The official release date for The Vampire's Release is still October 12th.  I can safely say that this book will REALLY be available on that date.  Enough progress has been made over the past few weeks for me to make that statement with some amount of confidence.  So hang in there, readers!

To pique your interest in the newest book in the Undead in Brown County series, I present to you this very short little teaser.  If I give you anything more than this, it will give away far too much information.  A great deal happens in this book, some of which will answer questions that have been coming up since the first book in the series, The Vampire's Warden.

Here's your teaser, my sweet peeps!

I slid into the front passenger seat and glanced back at Sarah, who was already pulling off her stained sweater.  The undergarment she wore beneath it was nearly as tempting as her bare flesh.  I believe Victoria called it a “bra”.  It seemed woefully inadequate to hide Sarah’s beautiful curves, but I hadn't spent much time perusing ladies’ undergarments since the 1800’s.  What did I know?

When I looked back over at Alex, his gaze was locked on the rectangular mirror attached to the glass in front of him.  Sarah wasn’t aware of his ogling, but I certainly was.  I wanted to shake him until his eyes rolled out of his skull.

Do you love visuals?  I do!  In fact, seeing pictures and art are HUGE inspiration for me, whether it's for writing or just getting in my groove.  Look out, Stella!  (Just kidding, hubby...)  But seriously, peeps, you've got to check out my UBC visuals board on Pinterest.  I will be adding more and more as I get closer to the big release day on 9-14.

YEP!  There will actually be a BOOK FOUR.  And it's coming out this month!  My husband doesn't really believe me either when I say that.  My two sons usually look at me and say something like, "You write books?"

My sweetheart little niece, Morgan, asked me last week, "Are you really an author?"

"Yes, I am."

She looked up at me with her pretty blue eyes and asked, "Can I be in your book?"

Hmm....  Do we have room for a cute little mortal girl?  I'll bet I can figure something out!

The Facebook Book Bash went off without a hitch!  I have to say that I have never seen so many pictures of hot men on one Facebook page before.  The pic to the left is just one wonderful example of what readers had to offer.

Here's the update on the release date for Book 4, The Vampire's Release.

On September 13th, 2012 I will be uploading the digital version of the newest book in the series to Amazon, B&N and Smashwords.  Hopefully there won't be too much of a delay in getting the paperback ready as well, but I can't make any promises.  It usually takes me a good week or two to get that part done correctly.

If you missed the first Book Bash, don't worry!  You will have a chance to join the second one on Sept. 14th.  The plan is to get the digital version ready and up for sale on the morning of 9-14 to coincide with the Release Party.

If you are a fan of Pinterest (or an addict, like me) you can check out my Pinterest boards which include a board entitled "Undead in Brown County Visuals".  These are the kind of images that inspired me to write this series, as well as a healthy dose of CW on Thursday nights.

So we're not far off from Book Four, my peeps.  Hang in there.  Love you guys!

The fear of falling didn’t go away when Dad brought Messenger home.  I loved her dearly.  But her energy was twice as frightening to me as Lenny’s.  She was ten years younger than he was and black as coal all over.  She had an amazing mane that draped down to her shoulders and gleamed like the night sky.  As stunningly beautiful as she was, I still couldn’t gather the courage I needed to climb up onto her back.

To know that Jackson had made that leap before me made me feel sad instead of angry.  Nelly let me think it over instead of calling me on it.  It was one of the many things I appreciated about her.  But before I left the room, she did say something that caught me by surprise.

“That boy is the real deal, Sarah.”

“What do you mean?”

She had that look on her face that she sometimes got when she was absolutely positive about her opinion.  From experience, I knew to take it seriously.  She’d had a bad feeling about Trevor Kincaid when she first met him.  And that time, her instincts had been right on the nose.

Her eyes were twinkling, “He has a place here.  He was meant to come here.  You’ll see what I mean before long.”
